Thứ tư, 17 Tháng 8 2011 01:24

Guru Rinpoche statue at SamyeTwo very precious relics will be put on display during the 3rd ADC:

The first relic on display during the 3rd ADC is the cymbal used by Guru Padmasambhava during the consecration of Samye, the first monastery of Tibet, in the 8th Century. It has the power of liberation by sound and anyone who hears its sound will be liberated from taking rebirth in the lower realms. In the 18th century Kyabgon Taktsang Repa brought it from Samye and kept it at Hemis Monastery as an object of blessing and devotion.

Guru Rinpoche statue at SamyeThe second relic is the First Gyalwang Drukpa Tsangpa Gyare's self-arising relic in the form of 2-armed Avalokiteshvara (Khasarpani). After he passed away, When his body was cremated, his heart, tongue and eyes remained intact. His skull bore the images of Arya Avalokiteshvara, Manjushri and Vajrapani; the 21 joints of his backbone turned into 21 mini statues of Avalokiteshvara and the relic on display during the 3rd ADC is one of these 21 mini statues. Historiclly this precious relic is said to be the most precious and invaluable object being enshrined at Dechen Choekhor Ling monastery in U region of Tibet. This is the main seat of succesive incarnations of Kyabje Drukpa Yongdzin Rinpoches and Kyabje Drukpa Choegon Rinpoches, and it is also one of the principal monasteries of Drukpa lineage. Although he is unable to attend the 3rd ADC in person, as a show of his support to the world's largest assembly of the Drukpa Lineage masters, Kyabje Drukpa Choegon Rinpoche Chokyi Sengye from Dechen Choekhor Ling, Bhuntar, has generously sent his representative, Kyabje Somang Rinpoche, to bring this relic to Ladakh, to display it for the benefit of all sentient beings.
